“Eyelashes &
Eyelids"
tutorial

1. Start by
cutting 2 eyelids from ultra suede with the help of the template
provided in the pattern.
To make a
template: (If you want to add eyelids to an existing bear), as a
rule, measure the eye you'll be covering from side to side (this is
the diameter of the eye). Then make a template from cardboard
that looks like a semi-circle. The straight edge should be double
the diameter of the eye, and the height should be the diameter of
the eye. (i.e. if the eye measures 10mm, make the template 20mm x
10mm).

2. Place a thin
layer of glue on the straight edge of the eyelid.

3. Fold the edge
and glue it together Do the same with the other eyelid. Set aside.

4. I use self
adhesive eyelashes that are longer than the eyes on the bear
(sometimes double the length, as I can get 2 sets out of 1).

5. Cut one of
the eyelashes in half (or the length of the diameter of the eye of
your bear).

6. With the help
of a pair of fine point tweezers, peel one of them and place it in a
slight angle half way on the bear's eye.

7. With the help
of the tweezers press the eyelash in place, making sure they're well
and truly stuck from side to side (if you find the adhesive is a
little dry, use a very small amount of clear glue to help it stick
to the eye).

8.
With a pair of tweezers, hold one of the eyelids in one hand
while you place a thin layer of acetone based craft glue on the back
of the eyelid.

9. Place it on
the eye, making sure it covers the edge of the eyelashes that is
glued to the eye.

10. With the tip
of the tweezers tuck all curve edge behind the eye.

11. If the eyes
look too sleepy, push the eyelashes and eyelid up with the help of
the tweezers (as shown on the photo below).

12. Place the
other set of eyelashes on the other eye, making sure it's in a angle
(high on the side of the bridge of the nose, and low on the outer
side of the face). Repeat the rest of the procedure as per other
eye.

13. Here's the
final result
